**Web3: the Future of Social Interaction**

In a recent interview, the so-called “Godmother of the Metaverse,” Cathy Hackl, spoke about the Metaverse and Web3. She explained her assessment of how both would influence the future of how people communicate. Hackl stated that Web3 gaming in particular was highly popular and would be the future of social interaction. 

Asked how to describe the Metaverse to somebody who had not dealt with it before, Hackl cautioned not to just view the Metaverse as hype. Instead, the Metaverse should be understood as the successor of the Internet as it is known today. Here, she underlined that the physical world was part of the Metaverse, provided that both are constantly being interlinked. Furthermore, she pointed to the constant growth she saw in particular connected to gaming. 

At the end of the interview, she further mentioned that this was the perfect moment to test projects and launch new concepts. It was key for people to understand what was happening in the Web3 and Metaverse space and to consider becoming a part of it.


**The Majority of Retail Companies Plan to Enable Crypto Payments**

Despite the ups and downs of the crypto markets, [a new study from Deloitte](https://www2.deloitte.com/content/dam/Deloitte/us/Documents/technology/us-cons-merchant-getting-ready-for-crypto.pdf) shows that numerous US companies are assuming a growing interest in the crypto sector – soon, crypto payments could become mainstream as the study notes that some 75 percent of US American retailers are planning to accept payments via crypto currencies or stablecoins within the next two years. That way, companies are hoping for improved customer satisfaction as well as expanding their customer base. 

An even greater share of interviewees in this study is expecting the demand for payment via crypto currencies to increase in general. A little more than half of participating retailers, according to the survey, have already invested more than 1 million US dollars into enabling digital payments. However, there are also challenges: Here, the majority of retail companies see the greatest hurdle in implementing the compatibility of the existing financial infrastructure with various digital currencies. Other obstacles include safety concerns, the volatility of the crypto market as well as lacking legal regulation and the possibility of keeping digital currencies in a bank account. 

A greater acceptance of crypto payments in the economic cycle should further raise the attractiveness and garner even more attention. The Deloitte report’s conclusion thus reads, “We are expecting further partnerships with regulated and established institutions in the sector to contribute to using the advantages of digital currencies (e.g., convenience and support) and to create the necessary foundation of trust.”


**Bitcoin Price Slightly Rises – Is the Next Boom in Sight?**

Prior to the new CPI numbers being published on August 10, the optimism in the crypto market is palpable. In recent days, Bitcoin scored price hikes again and again – so much so, that a new monthly high was aimed at. Thus, the next upturn of the market could propel Bitcoin as high as 30,000 US dollars, if the current trend continues. Nevertheless, counterpressure to the rising price is likely since increased sales could become visible at 25,000 US dollars. 

The American consumer price index (CPI) for this week is expected as a key indication for the further development of the price. Many experts currently assume that the new CPI numbers, reflecting the development of purchasing power or inflation, will give the crypto market more room to breathe.

Darüber hinaus machte sie auf das konstante Wachstum aufmerksam, das sie in Bezug auf das Spielen sieht. 

Darüber hinaus erwähnte sie zum Abschluss des Interviews, dass jetzt der perfekte Zeitpunkt sei, um Projekte zu testen und mit neuen Konzepten zu beginnen. Es sei entscheidend, dass die Leute verstehen würden, was im Web3- und Metaverse-Space passiert und sie in Betracht ziehen sollten, ein Teil davon zu werden. 


**Mehrheit der Einzelhandelsunternehmen will Krypto-Zahlungen ermöglichen**

Trotz des Auf und Abs der Kryptomärkte zeigt [eine neue Deloitte-Studie](https://www2.deloitte.com/content/dam/Deloitte/us/Documents/technology/us-cons-merchant-getting-ready-for-crypto.pdf), dass zahlreiche US-Unternehmen von einem wachsenden Interesse für den Krypto-Sektor ausgehen - schon bald könnten Krypto-Zahlungen Mainstream werden, denn gemäß der Studie planen etwa 75 Prozent der US-amerikanischen Einzelhändler, innerhalb der nächsten zwei Jahre Zahlungen per Kryptowährungen oder Stablecoins zu akzeptieren. Auf diese Weise erhoffen sich die Unternehmen eine verbesserte Kundenzufriedenheit sowie einen größeren Kundenstamm. 

Ein noch größerer Anteil der in dieser Studie Befragten rechnet damit, dass die Nachfrage an Zahlungen per Kryptowährungen generell steigen wird. Etwas mehr als die Hälfte der teilnehmenden Einzelhändler hat laut der Umfrage bereits mehr als 1 Million US-Dollar in die Ermöglichung digitaler Zahlungen investiert. Allerdings gibt es auch Hindernisse, denn eine Vielzahl der Einzelhandelsunternehmen betrachtet es als große Herausforderung, die bestehende Finanzinfrastruktur mit verschiedenen digitalen Währungen kompatibel zu machen. Als weitere Hürden gelten Sicherheitsbedenken, die Volatilität des Krypto-Marktes sowie fehlende juristische Regulierungen und die Möglichkeit, digitale Währungen auf einem Bankkonto zu halten. 

Eine größere Akzeptanz von Krypto-Zahlungen im Wirtschaftskreislauf dürfte die Attraktivität weiter erhöhen und noch mehr Aufmerksamkeit schaffen. Die Schlussfolgerung des Deloitte-Berichts liest sich dementsprechend auch wie folgt: „Wir gehen davon aus, dass weitere Partnerschaften mit regulierten und etablierten Institutionen in der Branche dazu beitragen werden, die Vorteile digitaler Währungen (z. B. Bequemlichkeit und Unterstützung) zu nutzen und die notwendige Vertrauensbasis zu schaffen."


**Bitcoin-Kurs legt leicht zu – folgt der nächste Aufschwung?**

Vor der Veröffentlichung der neuen VPI-Zahlen am 10. August ist der Optimismus auf dem Kryptomarkt spürbar groß. Bitcoin konnte in den letzten Tagen immer wieder Gewinne verzeichnen, so dass ein neues Monatshoch angepeilt wird. So könnte Bitcoin mit dem nächsten Aufschwung sogar auf 30.000 US-Dollar klettern, falls der momentane Trend beibehalten werden kann. Allerdings ist mit einem Gegendruck auf den aufstrebenden Kurs zu rechnen, da bei 25.000 US-Dollar erhöhte Verkäufe sichtbar sein werden. Der amerikanische Verbraucherpreisindex (VPI) wird für diese Woche als entscheidender Fingerzeig für die weitere Kursentwicklung erwartet. Derzeit gehen viele Experten davon aus, dass der Kryptomarkt durch den neuen VPI, der die Entwicklung der Kaufkraft bzw. der Inflation abbildet, etwas mehr Luft zum Atmen bekommt.

Bitcoin’s rapid price development over the last couple of years has convinced many people interested in crypto that it’s not worth getting into the crypto market anymore and that they’ve missed the right time to join. [A new study](https://github.com/Foresight-Ventures/Research/blob/main/What%20Does%20the%20Future%20Hold%20for%20Crypto%20Exchanges_Eng_Jul%202022.pdf?utm_source=PR&utm_medium=Media+release&utm_campaign=BCG+report), though, finds the opposite to be the case:

**Still in Its Early Days – Great Growth Potential for Crypto**

The Boston Consulting Group together with Bitget and Foresight Ventures has looked into the future of the crypto market, publishing a study saying clearly, “Despite the most recent slow-down of the crypto market, we believe that the crypto economy will endure.” According to the study, only 0.3 % of personal capital is currently kept in crypto currencies but a massive 25 % in stocks. On this basis, the analysts compare the crypto market – here called Web 3.0 – with the adoption curve of the internet, seeing the former slightly ahead. That underlines the claim that “there is still a lot of space for growth.”

Although the adoption of crypto is still in its early days, a growth trend can be detected, say the companies. “Although difficult to predict, the total number of crypto users will likely reach one billion by 2030, if the present trend of using crypto will continue.”

Aside from more attention by large-scale investors, this growth is primarily driven by the rise of Web 3.0 and the participation in emerging countries. 


**Consequences of the US Federal Reserve’s Interest Rate Decision**

The US Federal Reserve (Fed) has increased interest rates by another 0.75 %, lifting interest rates to between 2.25 and 2.5 %. This already marks the fourth interest rate hike by the Fed this year. Fed chief Jerome Powell has indicated the next rise could follow in September in order to counteract the significant recent rise of inflation in the USA. Inflation has lately gone up to 9.1 % - the highest value for 40 years.

Stock markets reacted positively, such as the NASDAQ registering its highest rise since fall 2020. This trend also carried the crypto markets higher, with some putting in double-digit increases. However, much like recent interest hikes, the enormous price increases will likely be followed by sales and thus falling prices. The rollercoaster ride of the crypto market will continue for quite a while until the market will have finally stabilized and entered ongoing growth.

Network data, though, already show positive signs. “The on-chain data continue to be strong, especially for Bitcoin,” according to Adam Sze, Head of Digital Assets Products at Global X. In the long term, the “prospects of crypto currencies continue to be very convincing.” Other than Bitcoin, “smart contract protocols such as Ethereum are also more and more accepted by institutional investors.” Despite the tense market situation, Adam Sze thus stays optimistic. Crypto might still be in a “bear market.” However, these are also the times “when you can build a lot of things.”

[Eine neue Studie](https://github.com/Foresight-Ventures/Research/blob/main/What%20Does%20the%20Future%20Hold%20for%20Crypto%20Exchanges_Eng_Jul%202022.pdf?utm_source=PR&utm_medium=Media+release&utm_campaign=BCG+report) kommt nun allerdings zu dem Ergebnis, dass das Gegenteil der Fall ist:

**In der Frühphase – großes Wachstumspotenzial für Krypto** 

Die Boston Consulting Group hat gemeinsam mit Bitget und Foresight Ventures zur Zukunft des Krypto-Marktes geforscht und eine Studie veröffentlicht. Darin machen die Verfasser folgendes deutlich: „Trotz der jüngsten Verlangsamung des Kryptomarktes glauben wir, dass die Kryptowirtschaft Bestand haben wird.” So sollen zurzeit lediglich 0,3 % des individuellen Vermögens in Kryptowährungen gehalten werden, und ganze 25 % in Aktien. Auf dieser Basis ziehen die Analysten einen Vergleich zur Adoptionskurve des Internets, der der Kryptomarkt – hier als Web 3.0 bezeichnet – im direkten Vergleich bereits leicht voraus ist. So lässt sich erkennen, dass es „noch viel Platz für Wachstum gibt“.

Obwohl die Krypto-Adoption noch in den Kinderschuhen stecke, sei ein Wachstumstrend erkennbar, meinen die Unternehmen. „Auch wenn es schwer vorherzusagen ist, wird die Gesamtzahl der Kryptonutzer bis 2030 wahrscheinlich eine Milliarde erreichen, wenn sich der Trend der Kryptonutzung fortsetzt.”

Die großen Einflussfaktoren dieses Wachstums sind dabei neben der verstärkten Beteiligung von Großinvestoren auch der Aufstieg des Web 3.0 und die Beteiligung in den Schwellenländern.  


**Folgen der Zinsentscheidung der US-Notenbank Fed**

Die US-Notenbank Fed hat den Leitzins um weitere 0,75 % angehoben. Damit liegt der Leitzins zwischen 2,25 und 2,5 Prozentpunkten. Es ist bereits die vierte Leitzins-Erhöhung der Fed in diesem Jahr. Fed-Chef Jerome Powell zufolge könne die nächste Anhebung im September folgen. Damit wollen die Währungshüter der zuletzt stark gestiegenen Inflation in den USA entgegenwirken. Die Inflationsrate stieg zuletzt auf 9,1 % – der höchste Wert seit über 40 Jahren.

Die Aktienmärkte reagierten positiv und so hatte der NASDAQ den größten Anstieg seit Herbst 2020. Von dieser Tendenz wurden auch die Krypto-Börsen mit hochgerissen. Dabei verzeichneten viele Coins einen Kursanstieg im zweistelligen Bereich. Allerdings ist zu befürchten, dass, ähnlich wie bei den letzten Leitzinserhöhungen, nach den enormen Kursgewinnen zunächst wieder Verkäufe erwartet werden müssen und damit einhergehend fallende Kurse. Die Achterbahn im Krypto-Bereich wird also noch einige Zeit weitergehen, bis der Markt sich endgültig stabilisiert und wieder dauerhaft ansteigt.

Positiv sind bereits jetzt die Netzwerkdaten zu bewerten. “Die On-Chain-Daten sind weiterhin stark, insbesondere beim Bitcoin”, erklärt Adam Sze, Head of Digital Assets Products bei Global X. Langfristig seien die “Aussichten von Kryptowährungen weiterhin sehr überzeugend”. Neben Bitcoin würden “auch Smart-Contract-Protokolle wie Ethereum zunehmend von institutionellen Investoren angenommen”. Trotz angespannter Marktlage bleibt Adam Sze daher optimistisch. Krypto stecke zwar in einem “Bärenmarkt”. Das seien aber auch Zeiten, “in denen man eine Menge aufbauen kann”.

The European Central Bank is countering inflation by raising interest rates, thus catching up with other central banks:

**The ECB Is Raising Interest Rates – What Does That Mean for Crypto?**

For the first time in eleven years, the European Central Bank has raised interest rates to 0.5 %, thus reacting to the powerful inflation throughout the EU. This step had already been announced in June, although there had been indications in the past month that it would be capped at 0.25 %. With the raise, the ECB is now drawing level with other central banks. The US Federal Reserve had already announced interest rate hikes early on. The ECB’s hesitation is one of the reasons for the historic low of the euro compared to the US dollar. In other words, the central bank is under massive pressure.

The raise will take time to make its effect known since the measure presently does little to counteract the record inflation of currently 8.6 % in the euro zone. Nevertheless, the measure should have a short-term positive effect on the strength of the euro. That tendency could also serve to further stabilize the bitcoin price. In a press statement, Commerzbank even expects a gradual increase of deposit rates by 1.5 % by May 2023. In the meantime, the ECB’s scope of action remains fairly small. The central bank faces a quandary: On the one hand, it is tasked to fight inflation; on the other hand, adjusting interest rates must not trigger a recession.


**Bitcoin Price Increase Leads to Resurgence of Entire Crypto Market**

Over the last days of trading, Bitcoin has been recovering, in fact rocketing up to an enormous price increase. That caused investors to put more money into old coins. In particular, Ethereum has been able to benefit with increases sometimes reaching up to 28 %.

The positive development of Bitcoin and Ethereum prices has led to a significant recovery of prices on the remaining crypto market – for many of the Top 100 old coins even more than for Bitcoin. Accordingly, the Bitcoin dominance has slipped over the last seven days of trading by some five percent to 42.01 %. Some three quarters of the largest crypto currencies have shown a two-digit rise of prices for the last seven days of trading.

If this increase of Bitcoin and the old coins should prove to be sustainable, fresh impulses for the overall market are to be expected for the coming week. The price development on the crypto market though is influenced by relevant economic data on the conventional financial market.


**Volkswagen Is Promoting Renewable Electricity for Electric Cars With a Crypto Project**

Volkswagen released a press statement (https://medium.com/energy-web-insights/energy-web-and-volkswagen-deliver-24-7-renewable-energy-charging-solution-for-electric-vehicles-734132c5a737) saying that they have developed an innovative charging station for electric cars together with the Energy Web Foundation. Owners of electric vehicles thus can get their power from specific power plants and for the first time coordinate the charging processes in real time with the production of renewable energies.

“The solution allows users to determine date and time of the charging process, the desired charge level after charging as well as the type of power procured from renewable energy sources,” according to the statement.

Headquartered in Berlin and operating globally, the Energy Web Foundation is one of the most important actors pushing forward renewable energies via blockchain solutions.

**EZB hebt Leitzins an – was das für Krypto bedeutet**

Erstmals seit elf Jahren hebt die Europäische Zentralbank die Leitzinsen auf 0,5 % an und reagiert damit auf die starke Inflation in der EU. Dieser Schritt wurde bereits im Juni angekündigt, wobei im vergangenen Monat noch eine Erhöhung auf 0,25 % angedeutet worden war. Mit der Anhebung zieht die EZB nun mit anderen Zentralbanken gleich. Die US-Notenbank hatte bereits frühzeitig Leitzinserhöhungen angekündigt. Das Zögern der EZB ist einer der Gründe für das historische Tief des Euros gegenüber dem US-Dollar. Die Zentralbank steht also mächtig unter Druck.

Der Effekt der Erhöhung bleibt abzuwarten, da die Maßnahme der Rekordinflation im Euro-Raum von aktuell 8,6 Prozent nur wenig entgegensetzen kann. Dennoch dürfte sich die Maßnahme kurzfristig positiv auf die Stärke des Euros auswirken. Die Tendenz könnte auch den Bitcoin-Kurs weiter stabilisieren. Die Commerzbank geht in einer Mitteilung sogar von einer schrittweisen Erhöhung des Einlagezinssatzes bis Mai 2023 von 1,5 Prozent aus. Dabei ist der Handlungsspielraum des europäischen Währungshüters jedoch gering. Die EZB steckt in der Zwickmühle: Einerseits steht das Ziel der Inflationsbekämpfung, andererseits möchte man mit der Anpassung der Zinsen nicht in eine Rezession steuern. 


**Bitcoin-Kursanstieg lässt den gesamten Kryptomarkt aufblühen**

In den letzten Handelstagen erholte sich der Bitcoin und konnte einen enormen Kursanstieg verzeichnen. Das lässt Anleger wieder vermehrt in Altcoins investieren. Insbesondere Ethereum konnte hier profitieren und stieg teilweise um 28 %.

Die positive Kursentwicklung von Bitcoin und Ethereum führte am restlichen Kryptomarkt zu deutlichen Kurserholungen – bei vielen der Top-100-Altcoins sogar noch stärker als beim Bitcoin. Daher rutschte die Bitcoin-Dominanz in den letzten sieben Handelstagen um etwa fünf Prozent auf 42,01 Prozentpunkte ab. Knapp drei Viertel der größten Kryptowährungen weisen für die letzten sieben Handelstage ein zweistelliges Kursplus auf. 

Kann dieser Anstieg von Bitcoin und den Altcoins nachhaltig bestätigt werden, ist auch für die kommende Woche mit weiteren Impulsen am Gesamtmarkt zu rechnen. Die Kursentwicklung am Kryptomarkt wird jedoch durch relevante Wirtschaftsdaten des klassischen Finanzmarktes beeinflusst werden. 


**Volkswagen treibt erneuerbaren Strom für E-Autos mit Krypto-Projekt 
voran**

Volkswagen hat in einer Pressemitteilung (https://medium.com/energy-web-insights/energy-web-and-volkswagen-deliver-24-7-renewable-energy-charging-solution-for-electric-vehicles-734132c5a737) angekündigt, mit der Energy Web Foundation eine innovative Aufladestation für E-Autos entwickelt zu haben. Besitzer von Elektroautos können auf diese Weise ihren Strom von bestimmten Kraftwerken beziehen und erstmals die Ladevorgänge in Echtzeit mit der Produktion aus erneuerbaren Energien abstimmen. 

“Die Lösung ermöglicht es den Nutzern, Datum und Uhrzeit des Ladevorgangs, den gewünschten Ladezustand am Ende des Ladevorgangs sowie die Art und Weise des Strombezugs aus erneuerbaren Energiequellen zu bestimmen”, heißt es in der Mitteilung.

**Fighting Money Laundry: EU Reinforces Rules for Crypto Transactions**

The EU is taking more severe action against money laundry with crypto currencies. The EU countries and the European Parliament agreed to a law on tracking crypto transactions. Thus, crypto platforms will have to establish information on sender and receiver while processing transactions. How much money is transferred is of no concern. In any investigation on money laundry or terrorism, the providers have to forward this information to the relevant authorities.

The EU is focusing its measures against crypto laundry on the point of conversion from digital currencies to “conventional money.” Thus, direct transfers between owners of platform-independent crypto wallets are excluded. However, these would have been diffi cult to monitor to begin with.
Furthermore, a special regulation regarding crypto platforms processing transactions with such independent wallets calls for the above information to be provided for transfers of 1,000 euros and more.

EU Member of Parliament Martin Schirdewan (Left Party) approved of the agreement. “As in traditional bank transfers, there has to be clear transparency who the actual sender and recipient of the crypto assets are,” he said. Nevertheless, he criticized the less stringent transparency requirements for independent wallets.

Frankfurt-based economist Prof. Philipp Sandner, one of Germany’s leading blockchain experts, on the other hand is relieved that the “hard demands of the European Parliament” have been weakened. This includes the identifi cation requirement only for sums above 1,000 euros. He considered this good news especially for fi rms active in the crypto area.

Before the EU law may offi cially come into force, the EU Parliament and the countries still have to formally approve it. Furthermore, negotiations are currently ongoing regarding other unifi ed regulations for the EU crypto currency market.


**Higher Tax Exemptions, Less Bureaucracy: Capital Market Act with Crypto Signals**

The German federal government is planning to render the local fi nance sector fi t for the future, among others with crypto and blockchain. On June 29, Federal Minister of Finance Christian Lindner and Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann presented the plan for a Future Financing Act. The joint proposal by both departments could also have positive effects on the German crypto sector.

The bundle of laws primarily plans to facilitate an easier access to the stock market both for private individuals and companies. “We want to turn Germany into the leading location for start-ups and growth companies,” FAZ quoted the federal minister of fi nance ([https://www.faz.net/aktuell/finanzen/wird-deutschlands-finanzplan-so-attraktiver-18138382.html](https://www.faz.net/aktuell/finanzen/wird-deutschlands-finanzplan-so-attraktiver-18138382.html)). Lindner believes the digital transformation of the economy as well as coping with climate change are only possible if sufficient private capital is available. The Future Financing Act is to be completed in the coming year, passing parliament and coming into force in 2023 as well. Central concern of the legal initiative is the digital transformation of the equity business. Lindner and Buschmann promised, for instance, an expansion of the Law on Digital Securities and a reduction of the required written documentation of securities transactions which has proven troublesome for digitalization. Consequently, the crypto sector is not excluded from these innovations. “In the fi rst half of the legislative period, the electronic securities law is to be extended to stocks. The legal framework for acquiring and transferring other crypto assets will be improved. Requirements for written form are to be reduced. Not only European negotiations concerning MiCA and the TFR but also these key points prove that, thanks to the FDP being part of the federal government, we can be leaders in Web 3 and exploiting the potential of blockchain,” Frank Schäffler, speaker for FinTech and blockchain innovations of the FDP party group in the federal parliament, tells BTC-Echo. The federal government is generally paying attention to the topic of crypto. Only a few weeks ago, a new regulation on crypto fund shares came into force, as we reported in a previous newsletter.


**Bitcoin Dominance Dropping**

Bitcoin has been a tad aimless over the last couple of weeks, fl uctuating between 19,000 $ and 21,900 $. However, its dominance continues to recede at 43.2 %. This development has had a positive effect on the prices of old coins. Bold investors have been using Bitcoin’s indecisiveness to increasingly invest in alternative coins. A closer look at the developments, though, shows many old coins only registering temporary price increases, most of which are sold off again. As long as Bitcoin cannot escape its horizontal trend with a sustained jump upward, sustainable targets for the overall sector remain unlikely.

**Die EU geht schärfer gegen Geldwäsche mit Kryptowährungen vor.** 

Die EU-Länder und das Europäische Parlament haben sich auf ein Gesetz geeinigt, um Krypto-Überweisungen nachverfolgen zu können. Somit müssen Krypto-Plattformen künftig Informationen über Sender und Empfänger ermitteln, wenn sie Transaktionen abwickeln. Es spielt dabei keine Rolle, wie hoch der überwiesene Betrag ist. Im Fall einer Ermittlung wegen Geldwäsche oder Terrorismus müssen die Anbieter die Information auch an die zuständigen Behörden weiterleiten.

Die EU fokussiert sich bei den Maßnahmen gegen Krypto-Geldwäsche auf die Stelle, an der Digitalwährungen in „herkömmliches Geld“ umgetauscht werden. Daher bleiben direkte Transfers zwischen Inhabern von plattformunabhängigen Krypto-Wallets außen vor. Sie wären aber ohnehin schwer zu kontrollieren.

Eine Sonderregelung gibt es zudem, wenn Krypto-Plattformen Transaktionen mit solchen unabhängigen Wallets abwickeln: Hier greift die Informationspfl icht ab einem Betrag von 1.000 Euro.

Der EU-Abgeordnete Martin Schirdewan (Linke) begrüßte die Einigung. „Wie auch beim traditionellen Banktransfer muss klar nachvollziehbar sein, wer tatsächlich Absender und Empfänger der Kryptowerte ist“, sagte er. Er kritisierte jedoch, dass die Transparenzvorgaben bei unabhängigen Wallets weniger stringent seien.

Der Frankfurter Wirtschaftswissenschaftler Prof. Philipp Sandner, einer der führenden Blockchain-Experten Deutschlands, zeigte sich dagegen erleichtert, dass „die harten Wünsche des Europäischen Parlaments“ abgeschwächt worden seien. Dazu gehöre, dass der Identifikationszwang erst bei Summen über 1.000 Euro greife. Gerade für Unternehmen, die im Krypto-Bereich aktiv seien oder dies vorhätten, seien dies gute Nachrichten.

Bevor das EU-Gesetz offiziell in Kraft tritt, müssen das EU-Parlament und die Länder es noch formell abnicken. Darüber hinaus wird derzeit über weitere einheitliche Regeln für den Kryptowährungsmarkt in der EU verhandelt.



**Höhere Freibeträge, weniger Bürokratie: Kapitalmarktgesetz mit Krypto-Impulsen**

Die Bundesregierung will die heimische Finanzbranche unter anderem mit Krypto und Blockchain fit für die Zukunft machen. Am 29. Juni haben Bundesfi nanzminister Christian Lindner und Bundesjustizminister Marco Buschmann den Plan für ein Zukunftsfinanzierungsgesetz vorgestellt. Der gemeinsame Vorschlag der Ministerien kann auch positive Effekte für die deutsche Krypto-Branche haben.

Das Gesetzespaket sieht im Wesentlichen vor, den Zugang zum Aktienmarkt sowohl für Privatpersonen als auch für Unternehmen zu vereinfachen. “Wir wollen Deutschland zum führenden Standort für Start-ups und Wachstumsunternehmen machen”, zitierte die FAZ den Bundesfinanzminister ([https://www.faz.net/aktuell/finanzen/wird-deutschlands-finanzplan-so-attraktiver-18138382.html](https://www.faz.net/aktuell/finanzen/wird-deutschlands-finanzplan-so-attraktiver-18138382.html)). Denn laut Lindner seien die digitale Transformation der Wirtschaft und die Bewältigung des Klimawandels nur durch die Verfügbarkeit von ausreichend privatem Kapital bewältigbar. Das Zukunftsfinanzierungsgesetz soll im kommenden Jahr 2023 fertiggestellt sowie beschlossen werden und auch in Kraft treten. Zentraler Punkt der Gesetzesinitiative ist die digitale Transformation des Aktiengeschäftes. Lindner und Buschmann versprachen etwa eine Ausdehnung des Gesetzes über digitale Wertpapiere und den Abbau des für die Digitalisierung hinderlichen Papierzwangs bei der Dokumentation von Wertpapiergeschäften. Konsequenterweise bleibt auch der Krypto-Sektor von diesen Innovationen nicht unberührt. „So soll in der ersten Hälfte der Legislatur das elektronische Wertpapiergesetz auf Aktien ausgeweitet werden. Der gesetzliche Rahmen für den Erwerb und die Übertragung weiterer Kryptowerte wird verbessert. Schriftformerfordernisse werden abgebaut. Nicht nur die europäischen Verhandlungen um MiCA und die TFR, sondern auch diese Eckpunkte beweisen, dass wir mit der FDP in der Bundesregierung Vorreiter im Web 3 und bei der Ausschöpfung der Potenziale der Blockchain sein können“, so Frank Schäffler, Sprecher für FinTech- und Blockchain-Innovationen der FDP-Fraktion im Bundestag gegenüber dem BTC-Echo. Die Bundesregierung räumt dem Krypto-Thema generell Beachtung ein. Erst vor wenigen Wochen trat eine neue Verordnung für Kryptofondsanteile in Kraft, über die wir schon in einem vorangehenden Newsletter berichtet haben.


**Bitcoin-Dominanz fällt**

Der Bitcoin befindet sich in den letzten Wochen mit einer gewissen Richtungslosigkeit in einer Handelsspanne zwischen 19.000 $ und 21.900 $. Allerdings ist seine Dominanz mit 43,2 % weiter auf dem Rückzug. Diese Entwicklung wirkt sich positiv auf die Kurse von Altcoins aus. Mutige Anleger nutzen die Unentschlossenheit vom Bitcoin und investieren vermehrt in alternative Coins.

Schaut man aber genauer auf die Entwicklungen, verzeichnen viele Altcoins nur temporäre Kurssprünge, welche mehrheitlich wieder abverkauft werden. Solange der Bitcoin also nicht nachhaltig aus seiner Seitwärtsphase nach oben ausbrechen kann, sind nachhaltige Vorgaben für die gesamte Branche weiterhin unwahrscheinlich.

Crypto-skeptics always shout the loudest in turbulent phases as in the last few weeks on the crypto market. Looking more closely, the following picture emerges around the two big cryptocurrencies Bitcoin and Ethereum: In March 2020, Bitcoin had been priced at 3,500 US dollars while one Ethereum had cost 100 US dollars. 

During the corona lockdown, cryptocurrencies rose to record heights in 2021, defying the expectations of renowned analysts. At their apex, one Bitcoin had reached 69,000 US dollars and one Ethereum 4,800 US dollars.

Obviously, these increases were too fast and thus were corrected in several phases. Despite inflation worries and the demanding market environment, a great many cryptocurrencies have achieved very high gains compared to 2020. After the selling-off phase of the past 14 days, Bitcoin is now at 21,500 US dollars and Ethereum at 1,250 US dollars. That means a rise of several 100 percent over 2020 prices. A number of reasons have been put forward, such as the increased demand for digitalization.


**Instagram, Twitter and eBay Are Introducing NFTs**

A very important share of the crypto market is taken up by the NFT market, which is also very important for the Castello Coin. In January, the trade volume on all NFT markets reached 17 billion US dollars. Market observers are currently expecting above average GROWTH in this segment.

Kryptoskeptiker schreien lauthals in turbulenten Phasen, wie wir sie in den letzten Wochen am Kryptomarkt gesehen haben. Auf den zweiten Blick lässt sich anhand der beiden großen Kryptowährungen Bitcoin und Ethereum aber folgendes Bild zeichnen: Bitcoin hat im März 2020 rund 3.500 US-Dollar gekostet, der Preis von einem Ethereum lag bei 100 US-Dollar.

Während der Corona-Lockdowns sind Kryptowährungen gegen die Erwartungen anerkannter Analysten auf Rekordhöhen im Jahr 2021 gestiegen. In der Spitze kostete ein Bitcoin 69.000 US-Dollar und ein Ethereum 4.800 US-Dollar.

Diese Anstiege waren selbstverständlich viel zu schnell und wurden in mehreren Phasen korrigiert. Trotz der Inflationssorgen und des anspruchsvollen Marktumfeldes verzeichnen sehr viele Kryptowährungen im Vergleich zu 2020 sehr starke Gewinne. Bitcoin liegt nach dem Ausverkauf der letzten 14 Tage bei 21.500 US-Dollar und Ethereum bei 1.250 US-Dollar. Im Vergleich zu 2020 sind das prozentuale Steigerungen von mehreren 100 Prozent. Als Grund für die Anstiege seit 2020 werden verschiedene Dinge, wie zum Beispiel die erhöhte Nachfrage nach Digitalisierung, angebracht.


**Instagram, Twitter und eBay führen NFTs ein**

Die Krypto-Branche reagierte erwartungsgemäß erfreut über die gesetzliche Neuerung.
